Darling, The Short Film

Saim Sadiq’s latest short film Darling was premiered in Venice Film Festival which is one of the oldest movies galas. The Filmmaker is a Pakistani and completing his graduate degree in film directing from Columbia University, New York.

Darling won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film/Horizons for the best short film at the Venice Film Festival. It was the first Pakistani short movie to be premiered at the festival.

Darling is a story of a trans girl and a young boy where the character of Alina is played by Alina Khan, a real transgender actor from Lahore who makes her debut in acting through this short movie.

The filmmaker’s previous short film Nice Talking To you has also won the Best Director Award at the Columbia University Film Festival.
