Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has once reiterated the importance of switching off from cricket and spending “quality time” with his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.
Kohli, who tied the knot with Anushka in December 2017, said Anushka Sharma has helped him change his outlook and maintain balance in life.
Speaking to AB de Villiers for IPLT20.com after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first win of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 on Saturday, Virat Kohli revealed how he manages to handle the immense pressure that he faces in his cricket career.
RCB had a horror start to the IPL 2019 season as they lost six successive matches on the trot. However, a Kohli-de Villiers special in Mohali helped them beat Kings XI Punjab and secure their first points of the season.

“I think over the last year or so, the best thing to have happened to me is my marriage. It’s changed my whole world. I have the most beautiful wife, the most beautiful person,” Kohli said.
“That has been the most strong factor in my life to change the way I was. Before, I was too intense in life. She [Anushka Sharma] always keeps me motivated, positive and spend quality time with each other and get away from the game.
“I couldn’t have been luckier to have someone like that who understands my positions being in that situation herself. I look forward to spending time with her and that’s how I switch off.”
When AB de Villiers said that stability, balance and a good wife is key to a good life, Virat Kohli couldn’t agree more.
Kohli has time and again spoken about the impact of Anushka’s support to his life. The RCB captain had spoken about how “simple things” in life give the couple a lot of joy, considering the duo is always under the public eye.
Earlier this month, Virat Kohli was spotted hanging out with his wife Anushka Sharma and teammate AB de Villiers in Bengaluru with the South African cricketer’s wife and kids also joining them.

Meanwhile, Kohli said Saturday’s win over Kings XI Punjab was “special” and that he and AB de Villiers were constantly discussing how to get the team across the finish line.
“Tonight is special. We know what we have been through in the first six games. We kept discussing how we are going to get the team across the line,” Kohli added.
RCB manged to restrict Kings XI Punajb to 173 despite Chris Gayle hitting an unbeaten 99. Both Kohli and AB de Villiers shone with the bat, hitting half-centuries to help the team gun down the target with ease.
